WORK TOGETHER

👋 Hey, I'm Sander Haex. Together with Ilias I run AMASO, a two-person studio in the Netherlands. Between us we cover the whole stack, from design through to production code, building high-performing, immersive web experiences that close the gap between beautiful design and functional engineering.

What sets AMASO apart is that everything you see, the design, the build, the details, is made in house by the two of us. We work hands-on, carrying every project from first sketches to final deployment so clients get our full focus start to finish. Templates aren't in our vocabulary; each build is tailored to create something singular that reflects the client's vision.

The goal? Not just to hand over a website, but to build a digital presence that stands out, connects with its audience, and delivers real impact. We keep our project load deliberately small and work directly with each client, turning ideas into seamless online experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes working with you different from other web designers and developers?

Easy. AMASO is just the two of us, Sander and Ilias, so the people you talk to are the people who design and build your site. No account managers, no juniors quietly taking over halfway through. Between a design-led eye and full-stack engineering, we own every stage from first sketch to shipped code, and we wire up AI and automation wherever it earns its place. We build custom sites on Astro (which is seriously quick), and we also layer smooth GSAP animation onto existing Webflow, HubSpot, or WordPress sites whenever a project needs that extra motion.

What's your design process like?

We begin with greyscale wireframes in Figma, no colour, no polish, just structure and user flow. Once that's solid, we build out the full high-fidelity designs with every visual detail. For heavier animation we'll often mock it up in After Effects first, so you can feel the motion before we commit it to code. Then everything goes into real GSAP animation. No surprises, you watch the vision take shape one step at a time.

How long does it typically take to complete a website project?

It depends on the scope. A straightforward custom Astro site is usually 4-6 weeks, climbing to 8-10 weeks when there's a lot of bespoke animation and special functionality. Adding GSAP motion to an existing site tends to run 2-4 weeks. We keep our project load small, so you always have our full attention.

Do you offer website maintenance services after the site is launched?

Absolutely, we don't vanish at launch. Support comes in a few flavours, from simply keeping things updated and healthy to actively iterating on the design based on how people really use the site. We'll settle on whatever fits your situation.

How much does a typical project cost?

Honestly, it ranges. A custom Astro build is a different animal from adding motion to an existing WordPress site. Design complexity, how much bespoke development is involved, any AI or automation you need, the kind of animation you want, it all feeds into the number. After we talk through what you need, we'll send a detailed breakdown.

Do you work with agencies, or only direct clients?

Both. We love partnering with clients directly on their big projects, and we team up with agencies just as often. Agencies usually reach out when a client needs those buttery-smooth GSAP animations, or when they want a design-led team to handle the tricky interactive pieces. Dropping in to add an animation layer to sites built on other platforms is a regular part of our week.

What is GSAP, and why do you specialize in it?

GSAP is pretty much the gold standard for web animation. It's a JavaScript library that lets us build silky, performant motion without dragging your site down. We've relied on it for years because it simply works, you get rich interactions that make a site feel alive, minus the janky performance you often hit with other approaches.

Why do you prefer Astro for custom projects?

Astro is fast. Almost absurdly fast. It ships static sites yet still lets us drop in interactivity exactly where it earns its place. It's also wonderfully flexible, so we can reach for the right tool per section. For anyone who wants something fully custom and lightning-quick, Astro is ideal, and it pairs beautifully with GSAP animation.

Can you add animations to existing websites built on other platforms?

Definitely, it's a big slice of what we do. We've brought GSAP magic to Webflow builds, HubSpot pages, WordPress themes, Shopify stores, you name it. Agencies sometimes hire us just for this, and plenty of site owners come to us when their site needs more personality. We can almost always work with whatever platform you're already on.

How important is design and UI/UX in your process?

Hugely important. We're not developers who only write code, design and user experience are where we spend most of our thinking. Every animation, interaction, and layout call comes back to making things better for your users. Our background in design and full-stack engineering helps us reason about flow and how people move through an experience.

Do you offer e-commerce solutions?

Yes, e-commerce is on the menu. For a custom route we might build on Astro and wire it to a headless commerce platform, with automation handling the busywork behind it. Or we can take your current Shopify store and make it far more engaging with custom animation and a sharper design. It really comes down to what you sell and what you're aiming for.

How do you handle revisions and feedback during the design process?

You see designs and prototypes as we go, not only at the finish line. We'll typically run 2-3 rounds of revisions on the core direction, and we stay responsive to feedback the whole way. Since it's a two-person studio, communication is direct, no messages lost in a game of telephone.

Can you integrate my website with other business tools and software?

Usually, yes. CRMs, email marketing tools, analytics, payment processors, we've hooked sites up to all kinds of business software, and automation and AI integrations are part of what we do. We make sure those integrations never compromise the design or slow the animation. If there's something specific you need connected, just ask and we'll tell you straight whether it's doable.

What kind of support do you offer after the website is launched?

We don't disappear once the site goes live. Support scales to what you need, from basic upkeep that keeps everything running to hands-on work where we keep improving the site around how it performs. Some clients just want the reassurance that someone's watching over things; others want to keep iterating and adding features.

How do you measure the success of a website project?

We define what success looks like before we begin, maybe that's more sign-ups, longer time on site, stronger conversion rates, or simply a site that truly represents your business. After launch we can show you how those metrics are trending and where it's worth making adjustments.
